Member Application Frequently Asked Questions

When completing your family information, use the line of your family connected to your Cheraw Catawba lineage. If both sides are connected, choose the line with the strongest documentation or use your mother’s side.

After you submit your member application, our enrollment team will review it and send a response to the email address listed on your application.

1. If additional information is required, your membership status will be placed ON-HOLD until you reply with the required updates. Please follow the instructions in the email from the enrollment team to move your application along through the process.
2. Once your application is complete and all required documents have been submitted, your membership status will change to PENDING.  The enrollment team will email you a handbook to review and sign.
3. Once we receive your signed handbook, your membership status will change to CONTINGENT.
4. You will then gather and submit supporting documents that verify your connection to the Cheraw Catawba lineage. After the enrollment team reviews and approves those documents, your membership status will change to VERIFIED.

Members who reach CONTINGENT status will first receive their membership certificates and cards at the September 2026 Homecoming Event. After that, certificates and cards will be mailed once a member reaches CONTINGENT status. 

Yes. We welcome those who support our community, even if they are not part of the Cheraw Catawba lineage. To apply, visit our home page, select 'Members', then choose 'Affiliate Application' and follow the instructions.

From our home page, click the 'Fundraising' menu and then click 'In-kind Donations'.  All donations will help us create and sustain cultural programs, genealogical tracing/enrollment services, support community outreach and assist with administrative operations. Your support will help us to help our community.
